Sanggramawijaya
Daughter of King Airlangga, heir to the sacred Prawaning Sukma. Sent to the ruins to prevent another cataclysm. Defined not by force of arms but by empathy and conviction.

Twenty years after Medang fell, the curse stirs again. A daughter of light walks the ruins — and wakes the beast.

Twenty years ago, the mighty kingdom of Medang was annihilated in a single night of fire and chaos. Few survived, among them Airlangga, who went on to found Kahuripan. Yet whispers speak of the old curse stirring once more.
Now, as dark forces move in the shadows, Airlangga entrusts his daughter Sanggramawijaya with a perilous mission: travel to the ruins of Medang and secure the ancient seal before it is broken. What awaits her is not only the desolation of a lost kingdom. The dark tale of Gogor, haunting the future with its the monstrous remnant of Mahapralaya.
Gogor is a curse embodied. It only unleash disaster. Sanggra must confront dark forces, but lurking behind is the vengeful sorceress Calonarang and her generals. Trying to ignite a second Mahapralaya.
GOGOR is rooted in real Javanese history. The temple-building dynasties of Central Java, the catastrophic fall of Medang, and the rise of Kahuripan under Airlangga. The webtoon picks up where the chronicles fall silent between the history told.
Buddhist and Hindu dynasties alternate in Central Java. The age of Borobudur and Prambanan. Temple-building, cosmic order, dual religious-political balance.
Power shifts east to Java Timur under Mpu Sindok and Dharmawangsa. Ends in Mahapralaya Medang. The total destruction of the capital in a single night, c. 1016 AD.
Twenty years after the fall, Airlangga rebuilds. Hindu–Buddhist traditions are stitched together. A new kingdom rises on the delta of Brantas river, and a shadow stirs in the ruins of the old.
The line Airlangga preserved becomes the spine of every kingdom that follows. Medang's fall becomes legend, and Airlangga, a half-myth.

Daughter of King Airlangga, heir to the sacred Prawaning Sukma. Sent to the ruins to prevent another cataclysm. Defined not by force of arms but by empathy and conviction.

Once a prince of Medang, an older brother figure to Airlangga. Betrayed and slain. Cast into the cursed forest of Alas Lodra.

Devoted student of Empu Bharada. Protector and moral counterweight to Sanggra, where she sees hope, Bahula sees only the beast that must be put down.

Disciple of Narotama. Has not left Airlangga's side since the exodus from Medang. Spent twenty years forging the Keris Matahari and training Bahula to protect Kahuripan's future.

Medang's final guardian before the Mahapralaya. Unmatched in seals, mantras, and cosmic balance. His prophecy of a second Mahapralaya haunts every kingdom that survives him.

The sole Medang prince who escaped the Mahapralaya. Founded Kahuripan. Torn between his duty as king and his love as father, he sends Sanggra to confront what he never could.

Master of forbidden sorcery and necromancy. She bends the Daru Papat and siluman generals to her will, scheming to harness Gogor's power and tear open the veil between worlds.

Once the rebel lord whose betrayal shattered Medang. Returns as siluman Lembusura, twisted into beastly form, channeling political resentment and supernatural fury under Calonarang's hand.

Four monstrous generals serving the witch queen. Each tied to a cardinal direction and an elemental curse.
What a daughter inherits from a father's silence. What a kingdom inherits from a kingdom that fell. The cost of carrying someone else's history.
The collapse of kingdoms comes not only from demons, but from within. Whether the betrayed can be saved, and whether the betrayer deserves to be.
To tame the beast is to forgive it; to seal it again is to repeat the wound. Sanggra must walk that line.

The opening chapter — Sanggra walks into the ruins, and what waits there has been waiting twenty years.

The dream of GOGOR is a childhood dream for my own Javanese-rooted, tokusatsu-inflected saga. There will be more to comes, but i hope this webtoon project could be the small steps to start everything. The full webtoon arrives later this year. Thank you for reading Gogor, and, i hope, you are as excited as me to see where it goes.
